2010 and 2024 are different in that they are pure 'Did it work for those people? No? But it might work for us!' fuckups that have played out in basically, exactly the same way.

The two big mistakes that Keir Starmer - not Sue Gray, not Morgan McSweeney - is trying to fix are a) just do the headcount, lads, they're increasing the number of Downing Street advisors b) and realising you can't have a split administrative/political chief of staff, you need to do both.
