Crystal Ball’s new Electoral College ratings. Just 18% of Americans live in the 7 states & 1 Nebraska district that are competitive. Thanks to the Electoral College, neither campaign needs to pay attention to the 43 states+D.C. that contain 82% of Americans centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/...

Electoral College race ratings map by the University of Virginia’s Crystal Ball.

Democrats are favored to win 226 electoral votes, Republicans are favored to win 219 electoral votes, and only 93 electoral votes across just seven states are rated pure toss-ups (Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin). Kamala Harris would need 270 electoral votes to win.

I wish we could get rid of the electoral college. It is inherently undemocratic and unfair to millions of Americans who live in the other 43 states.

Regardless of the fact it provides more representative outcomes, Rank Choice Voting is too hard to understand?

Voters in those 43 states & D.C. still have plenty of important Senate, congressional, state, and/or local elections to vote in. But every American at all levels of government should have a vote that matters the same amount as anyone else’s vote
