Peter Stark talked at North Rast Togetherā€™s October 2019 event about this, along with Anna-Lisa Mills. Itā€™s probably true to say his work was the spark for NECCCo (incredibly now closed www.vonne.org.uk/closure-nort...medium.com/northeasttog...

I found this yesterdayā€¦shall I bring it to the next book group? Pixie was interested so you might be. And more on linking our regionā€™s heritage to climate change, Peter Starkā€™s angle is NE region was first into carbon-based technology and industry and could be the first out.

NEF has been working on this for 20 years so thereā€™s a lot of well researched and referenced work for you to get your teeth into. And many others have been too, in academia and public services (VCSE and public sector). Again why itā€™s not mainstream, guiding public policy, is beyond me

The combination of the loss of the academy (foundational / entry level) with the loss of communities of practice has left a big capability hole which I suspect departments are filling inconsistently themselves. Any centralised team needs to at least do one of these.

Meanwhile the tories mislaid 58 BILLION pounds of procurement expenditure in 2021 alone. But sure, bravely expose Vic Starmer for accepting the services of a personal shopper. Hashtag truth to power.
