They're playing up the "relatable" angle. But for them, it's real and achievable. If the other two tried it, it would look staged and it STILL wouldn't go well.

Two high schools as well. From one, Craig Biggio, Hall of Fame baseball player for the Houston Astros (I remember a Biggio in my class but not him). From the other, Melissa Etheridge (her dad was my social studies teacher).
I've been using "disappointed." Disgruntled and disillusioned could work, too. German might have an appropriate compound word.
