He was also inspired by a lot of English folklore, writing, and musical traditions: I'd personally highlight the "Moorside Suite" for brass band, and the choral work "King Estmere" (setting to music an unlikely heroic poem from Bishop Percy's "Reliques of English Poetry").

And of course he dipped into Shakespeare, doing Falstaff and Hal in "At the Boar's Head". I could go on. But I shouldn't, really. These are all personal faves of mine; there's a lot of Holst's music to dig into, and I think most people will find something they like.
