Poor move, literally all grown up people are familiar with Mordor. Tbh, give Tolkien and literature some space in modern legal work; it surely would not reduce readability.

I think the underlying problem might be the Judge seemed to equate the Irish High Court with Mordor. That would make the President of the High Court Sauron and, arguably, Appeals Court judges Nazgûl… …I’m not saying those are false equivalences, per se, but it’s strange to have a judge making them.
