I'm a little tired of how much I'm seeing "oh noes 3 Mile Island scary nukes" takes. I live next to a chemical plant, which *when operating within the law* is dumping poison right on us. There are indeed issues with nuclear fuel and running such a plant but I'd trade 3 Mile in for Chemours yesterday

The nuclear plant is fine lmao. It was shut down in 2019 because of operating costs, not any sort of danger or safety hazard. It ran continuosly from 1989 to 2019. We're not in the 70s anymore, and anti nuclear energy panic is no longer a real concern if you're not an oil executive.
