if we loved public libraries as much as we say we do, they’d be crowded as fuck and we’d hate public libraries

My libraries are usually pretty busy and a lot of people do hate them because they are full of the indigent

idk man, people work and our library is open 10am to 6pm, closed Sunday, and Saturday is always crowded.

Nah - we have the bookmobile here. And I can order the books, dash in and do the checkout pretty quickly. Or now ebooks. Love libraries.

I just end up forgetting to return the books and have to pay for them anyways lol.
