A few years ago did something funny and reverse-engineered a very old visual novel by Ciel, Arcana: Hikari to Yami no Ecstasys. Notable for the artwork by Tony Taka (known today for the Shining series of games) I ported the game to #RenPy and figured out how to port the card minigame too.
