Also if it were to happen for a prolonged period ahead of, say, the 2024 primaries then certain candidates would probably get coverage closer to their final actual vote share than their ability to hijack the DC brains of certain editors/reporters/outlets.
I think you’d see a lot less shitposting-driven political-adjacent news cycles, which could be good or bad depending on your views on the issue. Certainly a lot of online figures that become less relevant in forcing normal people to learn about The Discourse.
