*forget again. Also plot twist: apparently she contacted friends, one of whom she met before school and lent her a spare tie. But again something that means she isn’t unthinkingly using up time of colleagues in school.

… because she had certainty of a detention she made a checklist last night, to help her to ensure she doesn’t forgot again. Which also means the school will rarely be interrupted by her - or her peers - forgetting things. Without the detention I reckon she’d have shrugged.

Of course we can be plural about everything and say that no-one can comment on anything in general because it depends how it’s used or something else underlying. 🤷

Ok. I dont understand how they can be effective if used only by some people/ slt but I’m not attacking any particular school and im sure they’re used well where you are. I’m also sure there are exceptions. I was making a point about culture.

There are things that are very helpful about them but there are huge downsides that I never realised when in the middle of running schools that used them. Removing them makes nothing better. But some schools don’t need them. I think it’s worth considering why.
