I should note I am quite happy. I will be glad when bsky is more open to the public and I can browse it with rss and post more, but either way I am happy now. Life is okay.

For what it's worth I still exist, I just spend most of my time these days working and preparing for a few big life changes. I also browse the internet mostly via some RSS feeds I've set up which makes using bsky hard for now. Is what it is. Anyway, that's all.

Here is another map I did for a mayoral race in Colorado this year. In this election, local restaurateur Yemi Mobolade defeated former Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams to become the first Black mayor of Colorado Springs. He is also the first non-Republican to be elected mayor of the city.

A map of the city of Colorado Springs colored by whether Yemi Mobolade or Wayne Williams won. Yemi Mobolade won with 67,442 votes and 57.47% of the vote to Wayne Williams' 49,909 votes and 42.53% of the vote. Mobolade's main areas of support were in southern Colorado Springs, particularly the southwest while Wayne Williams had most of his strength in the north of the city. Despite getting 42.53% of the vote, Williams won very few precincts and so most of the map is colored in for Mobolade.

Finished the interview and now back! I am cautiously optimistic about it? I think I handled myself pretty well and at least personally had a nice time talking with the guy. Will hear back next week if I got the job or not. Crossing my fingers.

I've been trying to think of a good way to do alt text on election maps for users who need alt text, and wanted to see what people thought. Most of my work in GIS mapping and so I want to look for more ways to make that accessible to blind and low vision folks. Appreciate any feedback or criticism!
