I never played Andromeda was it like actual problematic bad? Or just the usual bunch of whining people bad?

Bit of both. Main character wasn’t as interesting as Shepard, also sadly they didn’t have the unique choices that include huge story changing effects like the OG trilogy. Companions are decent, but hard to compare them to the likes of Garrus, Wrex, Tali and Liara
