Former investigative reporter becomes Scottish Tory leader

Russell Findlay beat rivals Murdo Fraser and Meghan Gallacher in the ballot of party members.

There were 5676 votes in 2011 (63% turnout, so about 9000 members). There were 5500 votes in 2020 compared to 4155 in 2024, so participation and membership look like they have fallen by about one quarter

I am astonished that there are so many Tories in Scotland!
