Your objections are genuinely very very stupid. Do we have proof of an ongoing structural barrier to Labour Catholics and women?
No. They elected Tony Blair 3 times, he is a catholic. I do think Labour has similar problems with ethnic minorities though. This isnt just a Tory problem.
