The Scottish nationalist stalwart was giving a speech in North Macedonia this morning.

Salmond had a transformative impact on the SNP and modern Scottish nationalism. The party opposed devolution - but entered govt in 2007 and remains in power at Holyrood. (Salmond left the party in 2018, but his Alba party struggled, reflecting his own increasingly negative personal reputation)
