My best friend and first love told me that when we were together, it was an alter (DID) and not rly her. It hurt at first but at the same time…it is still a piece of her that was hurt and maybe needed what I had to give at that time. I love that alt and I love all of them and I hope they are all okay.

This is called “safe inside.” As a woman I never looked at my body, never wanted anyone to touch it, I was stiff and uncomfortable but yet was connected with the parts of it that kept me safe. Though I am a man now, this piece means so much to me. And I can look back and see how trapped I was but also how that body kept me alive. And i honored it by transitioning. Now I feel free. I love looking at my body, I love being in my body, I love intimacy, and I love myself.

“The space in between” I made this when I was in a deep state of derealization. I would put my hands and feet in the dirt to do anything to try and connect and feel my environment. It just felt so distant and foreign. It haunts me.
