Chrome has hidden extensions pre-installed. How bad is this?

Since you wanted to know from all of your three and a half (million? I assume) listeners: I am relieved that the extension turns out to be that innocent, from a technical perspective. I agree with the argument re burning user trust. But as a Firefox fan there wasn't a lot of trust to begin with.
