Yes! He was the only one to not do it mentally. Interestingly he didn’t turn the remainder of 1 back into a fraction, but he did spot that the decimal would be recurring very quickly. Did you also spot that someone in my family wasn’t using the equal sign properly? We will be having words!
All four of my family did this. Working was shown even if done mentally. No calculators and no conferring! Interesting to see the similarities and differences in our methods. Can you guess which one was done by the KS3 student, the A level student, the software engineer or the maths teacher?
