Daniel Swain's comments about California forests and fuels are likely much more relevant than this article suggests. There is no doubt that we need to curb climate change as our most urgent priority, but a legacy of fire exclusion in Canada is just as relevant as in California. \
You can tier authors by level of effort. What we've done in the past is start with the most active authors and simply do alphabetical within than and then do the next tier. Ideally, junior authors are full team members and thus show up in the first tier group based on contributions.
