First post on here! 🫐 📢 Call for papers! 2024 Annual Meeting of the German Demographic Association & the Demographic Societies of the Nordic Countries. Submit to my & Jonathan Wörn's session on "The impact on sickness & health on family members" 👪⚕️📈, deadline is 27 Nov 23 tinyurl.com/t2cymy9e

Session title: The impact of sickness and health on family members in young families.
Chairs: Lara Bister (Milan/Helsinki), Jonathan Wörn (Oslo)

Severe sickness of a person can have a strong impact on the situation of their family members. While this is well-known in the context of older family members with care needs, this session focuses on the situation in young families, where parents live together with their minor children who fell sick.

This session welcomes contributions in three domains: associations and causality, vulnerability and resilience, and impact pathways, regardless of the specific type of illness or disability under scrutiny, including congenital disorders, mental health issues, substance abuse problems, accidents, and other health problems.
