Have we trained kids that the first screen before scroll is just fluff that's not actually useful? As I think about it, many sites got a fancy landing page with a hero and a tagine, maybe a button or two - nothing really useful. Google has the first couple result being just ads, nothing useful, etc.
I heard an interesting take on above/below the fold for websites today where my dad, who's a teacher, experience issues with their online teaching tool. Because as soon as it loads the kids immediately scroll down, and then don't find the assignment halfway down the page, it was right at the top 1/2

Apparently, upgrading your media server to something that supports hardware transcoding in any meaningful way gives you much more watchable video! Who could've thought! (in this case a 4th gen intel core i5 based system to a 9th gen intel core i5 based system)
