Closest I've ever come to that is storm season when I worry about tornadoes shredding my small town. But, even in the worst years, that's only 6-10 times a year. I can't imagine facing that fear night after night.
Sometimes, I end up just staring. Not even thinking depressing thoughts. Just a mind blank as a blizzard. Think I'm practicing for becoming an unobtrusive ghost. Or for my future career as zen master.
My partner is also immunosuppressed. With rare exceptions, I haven't been anywhere in 4 years. And that's ok. Occasionally, the isolation gets to me. But I wouldn't think about complaining. It's not her fault and I chose to be here.
