Telling children they are living in a dying world is an essential evil we don’t really have terminology for. Children cannot fix your sins through shame and abortion of hope. You are the villain in their story, not their savior - peddling nothing actualizing change, only dred.

My great-grandfather died during the famine in China in the 30s. Before he died, he told my grandfather (12yo) to abandon his younger sisters and save himself. He did, and he was the only survivor. In some places, at some times, the world really *is* dying, and people say what they gotta say.
We can avoid this by teaching children to kill god.

Teach them to be compassionate and empathetic for those and the world around them. Inform them of the problems out there. But, add in hope. Hope for them and others like them that, with all of our help, we can still make the world better.
