I think what makes the clip of Bill Burr clowning on Bill Maher so watchable is that Burr isn’t an ideologue, he’s a Normal Seeming Guy who sees something happening, in this case reports out of Gaza and US college campuses, has an instinctive “that’s unjust” reaction, then just blankly stares…
… when he hears someone twisting themselves into a pretzel to justify it, as any Normal Person would blankly stare
