bluesky is not going to be able to keep the beautiful chaotic culture of the olden days (5 days ago) as the site grows but we can still try to build a better one than what came before

That's what it was always going to be if it succeeded - a chance to build a social network conscious of the actual problems they have and with experience on how to fight them, both from a service and a community perspective.

Back in the good old days, you needed least a few months to go by before you could get nostalgic about it. 👴

I am hopeful for some of the discussion about moderating tools, like a vouch system. Everything's going to get meaner once the floodgates open, but I think the technology to stop mass harassment and make things a bit cleaner is close at hand.

I think the spirit of frontierism can continue to exist & flourish. The maintenance & management of standards & ideals - the foundation upon which the culture is built - may be rooted in the community moderation plan currently being worked on. We can control how our environment occurs.

I only started yesterday, but I’m bringing nothing but chaos into the future of this platform. They will have to ban me stop my wild skeets.

I dearly hope that being able to make your own timelines will keep some of the crazy contained.
