Weirdly... this post has also just brought back the smell of the Essex Uni library.
I used to go to the uni to play on these when I was a kid - just jumping on and off! (By the time I went to actual uni there, children were banned!) Can't believe they are still there, tbh. I wonder how many serious accidents there have been over the least 50 years?

Hot water tanks even more of a problem than radiators - many (most?) newer houses don't have them, and don't have any space for them, except in the loft, which a) isn't designed to support a 50kg hot water tank (reinforcement works required); and b) is my only storage. (00s house = no storage!)
