i remember the webcomic forums i was in talking about how shitty it was for him to air that as a plot point in his comic when all indications were that his gf didn't want it to be in the comic and didn't know it would be

the mockery was about how much of a shithead he was. how discordant it was to wedge that into his comic. and on less sexist sites/forums, how he didn't seem to give a shit about her or how it affected her. the edits flowed quickly because of how bizarre the whole event was.
