society; is the value of the time taken from the academic's other activities justified by the value gained by the schools/schoolkids?
In meetings with my HoD I’ve been told that I’m expected to spend about a day a week doing “service”, with the other 4 split between research and teaching. So there’s already an expectation I will do things in this category
