There are 12 students on my course. All courses have 12, and change every year, tailored to our development. I've been here 372 years, & never studied with the same group twice. My 1st year was orbital mechanics and propulsion, my 2nd philosophy. We are no longer permitted to discuss what we learn.

I am currently in my 9th year (21 to go!) of Worldshaping at the Sandow-Aristoi Institute. Most of the 1st decade is required background in myriad sciences, but this year we're also learning to craft ultrapersonality shards to allow simultaneous focus on multiple aspects of interlocking problems.

Folk remedies from across the solar system. With intense experimentation to discover which ones really work, why they work, and do they work cross-species. The department is trying to get a grant to expand our findings into a database for medical personnel across the galaxy. 📝 #TinyTalesTuesday

By unanimous vote, O-Uni extends our class again. Rescue would mean interference. It would affect the data we began collecting when our classroom first came untethered and we spun off into the black. We're still okay. We're learning a lot. & the rest of campus sparkles so brightly from a distance

The lecture hall was a glass dome, and the shimmering rings of rock and dust coupled with the stars beyond proved a welcome distraction from the lecture itself. Prehistory was just so damn boring! "This," the professor droned, holding up a black rectangle, "is what the ancients called a 'phone.'"

The Orbital University boasts students from across the solar system and beyond. Its campus sprawls across dozens of buildings tethered to the chunks of ice and rock of the planet's rings. In the light of the sun, the world sparkles. What are you here to study? #TinyTalesTuesday#WritingPrompt

I stockpile jars of plucked rosehips, and hang bunches of fresh chamomile and mint from the roof beams so the leaves'll dry whole. The local rodent folk visit my kitchen when they're having a restless time of hibernation; I always keep the kettle hot to make tea.

As winter rushes towards us, we make sure we have beans enough for hearty stews made in the cauldron on the fire and the wood to keep it warm. Most of all, though, we refresh our wool and linen, ready to spin peace and knit safety against the ice-dragons that plague the tower when nights grow cold.

Without a Hive to keep me, I have to make do. I've crafted a cell in which I can curl from fabrics. I have a pouch of liquids for when dry-mouth pain wakes me, as there is no Mater to drip ambrosine in my open mouth. I have a device to play the Song of Recovery, since there are no Guardians to sing.
