Louisiana's Caddo Parish finished its recount in its sheriff race. The outcome didn't change. Henry Whitehorn (D): 21624 votes John Nickelson (R): 21623 votes A one-vote difference. Each candidate rounds to 50.00%.

As a UK person, I still find it astonishing that in the USA you *elect* law enforcement officers and judges! And do so on party political lines!

If you hadn't seen it, there's a tied election in a town supervisors race in Montgomery County PA. The outcome will be decided randomly on Thursday.

Tied at 3,055 to 3,055 following the inclusion of timely-received mail-in ballots pursuant to a federal court decision.  Candidates will draw lots Thursday at noon.

one thing I've always wondered when the races are this close...what if the recount flipped the one-vote margin? Do they keep counting until they get identical totals once?
