Let’s retire calling this “DEI hire” thing a dog-whistle. It’s not just racist, it’s a statement that revels in its racism.

"DEI" was the latest slur after the prior slurs were exposed as slurs.

It's like altrighties coyly trotting out 'Dark Brandon' for a profane slur, and then being surprised when we ram it back down their throats. We know what 'DEI hire' means to them.

The first problem is that we’re allowing them to turn DEI into a racial slur.

Like many other examples (see also: gaslighting), it's a full blown klaxon that wakes you up at three in the morning, not some coded language Lee Atwater had to cop to in an interview.
