As illustrators, we're hard on ourselves because we're taught, by other artists, to think about our illustrations as extensions of who we are. Our drawings become our ego. Moving a bit past that has been helped for me. But I still have my insecurities, and still want to impress.

Another one of my insecurities, going back decades to the very, very beginning, was that I couldn't capture femininity and feminine characters well. It was a particular failing of my skills to see and capture certain subtleties that made my art look very "masculine" to me.
