Kristofferson was a GOAT. Fought for his country. Stole a chopper to deliver a demo to Johnny Cash. Spoke out for peace. Put performative patriotism in its fucking place. Showed compassion and never minced words. He also wrote some damn good songs, sang, and was a hell of an actor. RIP

I was turned down for membership by the local VFW. I was too young to go to Vietnam and too old to go the the gulf (I was on the Iron Curtain.) All I did was keep WWIII from happening. I didn't want to have to sit next to angry old white guys in MAGA hats complaining about immigrants & POC.
