I don’t post about this often and I know I’m not first or last to this party but let me say It’s really not remotely ok to have your humanity, your right to self-determination and bodily autonomy treated as a topic for political discourse like some cute intellectual and philosophical exercise

I've remarked to others that the halcyon days of "comity" were likely so because the vast majority of legislators were decently well-off white dudes who regardless of the strengths of their convictions, at no point were having to face their colleagues trying to legislate them out of existence.
