Threads, the Meta-owned Twitter clone, is corny at best and leeching your personal data at worst. Unfortunately, it's also boring.
Mehhh. It's not so bad. You can block the brands if you wish. But honestly I dont block blue chip companies. They're easier to ignore since they're so prevalent. A pepsi ad is more forgettable than some niche brand spam. I do agree with the other points made.

It’s not doomed - it’s totally Oprah Twitter circa 2009 and brands are thrilled. They’ll redirect more advertising away from twitter because it’s simply and obviously a better decision. Let that sink in.
There doesn’t seem to be any “substrate” with Threads, at least not yet. Projecting forward, the closest analog so far seems to be LinkedIn? LinkedIn does have high engagement with zero substance, but it’s because everyone thinks it’s going to somehow eventually pay off. No carrots on Threads yet.
