Read a couple of interviews with her today, though, and - my god, the self-importance! The utterly unselfaware pomposity!
I must say, I haven't read any of her fiction either - so I wasn't particularly predisposed to give her the benefit of the doubt. But even if I had been... I'm not sure there's a reading of that post that isn't "bloody hell - I can't imagine anything worse than being stuck in a lift with that woman"
Without bothering to interrogate - or even acknowledge - her *own* position, I should add. Which would cause any self-respecting academic to combust with embarrassment But then, I suppose I need to stop expecting logic - let alone empathy - from any TERF with an internet connection
"Faux-academic" is right on the money. She's not actually making any solid, robustly-evidenced arguments (... HUGE selection bias in some of citations!) - she's setting GCSE-level exam questions, in the most condescending way possible, for an audience of adults who, at best, don't care to answer

I have said it before and I will say it again: Discworld is full of incredible characters who have achieved the impossible, but nobody - not one of them - has had a better or more successful life than Nanny Ogg
