There is a lot less Jesus v. Judaism than I thought there’d be. It’s honestly mainly disciple fanfic, with Jesus in the background being wildly caring to randos, and everyone uses a weird fake vaguely racist accent.

I dunno, I think that feels like the production team have mastery of the technical skills but none of the artistry.
I find it very hard to watch. I’m trying to watch it for research but it’s hard going. Not because of theological or historical inaccuracies— I don’t care about that — but just because it’s all so dramatic and overdone. It’s hard to explain why I hate it so much, I need to chat to a film scholar.
