I voted today (by mail). Here's a fun fact: if you're tired of getting texts and emails about voting, voting early stops a lot of them! Campaigns can see that you've voted (not who you voted for, obv) so they stop pestering you so much. So if you needed another reason to go now, there's one.
such a broken election system. there's absolutely no reason for political parties to know your information and if you voted or not. USA is a joke
I'm on my state's permanent absentee ballot list. Not for this, but because I'm forgetful AF. Now that I'm an officer of elections, it helps keep that off my mind so I can help keep things moving.
Thank you, that's a wonderful incentive. Wifey and I received our ballots a couple days ago, and now I'll make damn sure we mail them out and SOON! The texts and calls are relentless. Even got a canvasser show up in person today.
I would just filter out the words "vote" in Gmail or something lol
Early in-person starts next week here. Can't wait to get it over with so I can spend the next 4 months chewing my fingernails.
This sounds dystopian AF.
IT also means they can redirect their efforts and money elsewhere.
Completely agree on this. Related, If you communicate with a party at all before the election and indicate you are firmly committed to voting against their interests. Expect much of their interest in you to vanish. Do with this info what you will. Just remember to vote.
We call it a postal vote, and I’ve been using one for ages.
Voted on Saturday, got confirmation today. Hoping for less texts and calls tomorrow.
