I just feel like sports gambling and fantasy sports make sports about *oneself* rather than the game or the athletes. obvi lots of sports-knowledgable people take part in fantasy leagues, but imo it just diminishes what makes sports and athletes so great

I totally agree and my convo with the other guy was basically "fantasy sports are great when they let you focus on how players play the game instead of just your regional loyalty" But I also like fantasy because it's kind of like sports betting without the betting which I am 110% against.
