For a while, I was getting fan mail from inmates at the county jail.

Context: in the early 00s, a friend and I did a metal show on Saturday nights at the college station. We would regularly get requests from inmates at the county jail, via collect call requests (e.g., “You have a collect call from — Slayer, ‘Seasons in the Abyss’”) and we’d fulfill them.
