Great advice. Also something I learned from a @unionofconcernedscientists training is to *not* repost/quote the misinformation in your process of debunking. Give a factual counterpoint and just refer to the misinformation (eg, ā€œI know a lot of rumors are going around, so here are some resourcesā€¦ā€)

I think for a very long time scientists hoped that we could address climate change before massive human suffering ensued, and then about 10 years ago it became.. hopefully we can address climate change before even *more* human suffering ensues, and now itā€™s justā€¦ how much suffering is enough?

Itā€™s worth saying that the forecasts from NOAAā€™s National Hurricane Center are an absolutely vital, life-saving national resource. It would be a tragedy if Trumpā€™s Project 2025 plan to disembowel NOAA and commercialize all its forecasting operations came to fruition.

I was also asked how governments can help communities adapt to rising sea levels and risks of inundation. So we talked about the need for leadership and assistance with moving people to safer places. Frankly, the insurance market will drive some of this. www.weforum.org/agenda/2022/...

In a presentation to the Institute of International and European Affairs today, I was asked a great question: if we stopped emitting carbon dioxide today, how long is the ā€œlagā€ before the climate system responds? Here is a great answer to this question (hint: decades) www.climate.gov/news-feature...
