This is what I call Alito Reasoning (i.e. cherry-picking research, statistics, and quotations to twist the truth into a matching viewpoint contradicted by actual evidence from trusted sources). Like Alito, Lu twists herself in knots to prove herself right and muddies the meaning of her own essay.
I will give you the benefit of my experience. I have worked in education for over 30 years now, and I have had the pleasure and heartbreak of working with high school students. Transgender students, whose parents support their choices, thrive. They are comfortable in their own skin.
The other place you often see Alito Reasoning is in the Evangelical Church, which is a whole post unto itself, and I have neither the time nor the energy to refute Lu's thesis point-by-point. Suffice to say the quality of her data is heavily biased.
