This year’s Hay book buying theme was ‘gaps’. After this gap filled I’ll finally have read every Willa Cather novel, some many times (O Pioneers!; My Ántonia; Shadows on the Rock; Death Comes for the Archbishop). Bookmark is the menu my lovely god-daughter made for afternoon tea.

Have just returned from holiday in Ventnor IOW. There was loads about a novelist called Henry de Vere #Stacpoole. Just downloaded a couple of his onto Kindle to try… will get back to you!
