I was the only one wearing a mask on my flight to Ireland right now.

I fly once or twice per month within the EU for the past year. In that time, I can prob count the number of masked flyers on one hand. Not much more than that anyway. The couple of transatlantic flights in that time had a couple more maskers. Surprisingly few given the lingering pandemic.

The media did a good job at convincing people that (a) the virus that killed so many people in 2020 is gone, (b) the virus that killed so many people in 2020 is not gone, but turned completely benign, (c) masks do not prevent illness, (d) that once you have survived an infection, you will be fine.
