Love this book! NOIR is a must-read, too. All the San Fran weirdness, but backdated to postwar 40s, instead of the SF of things like the vampire books or Charlie Asher in the 90s, ish

And a great sequel to Noir.

That's right up there with "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times . . . " in my book.

That's a helluva descriptive turn of phrase, that is.
