Yeah, I've heard so many awful stories about working at Amazon, both blue and white collar workers. You are owned by the company. 10 PM email from the boss? Better answer it right away. And you're also correct about contract work often being so precarious. 😬

I've known ppl who've been Amazon office workers & what they've told me about the hyper-controlling culture (walking across the building to clock in & out for 15-min breaks & penalties for being 1 min late) has been shocking to me. Like, no self-respecting person should work there imo.
