...and let Thomas and Alito retire to be replaced by Trump with young idealogues who will hold down those seats for the next 30+ years. Whereas under Biden + Dem Senate they're old enough that they might just die naturally offering the opportunity to flip the SC (and allow Sotomayor to retire).

(I don't see any compelling reason for Sotomayor to retire now. Her health seems fine and I have zero confidence in Manchin and Sinema playing hardball to confirm a nominee.)
