In the original description, Gould refers to the colour of the feet as "culmine apiceque fuscis; pedibus flavescenti-carneis", meaning "legs, feet, and membranes yellowish flesh-colour" www.biodiversitylibrary.org/item/46217#p...
"Flesh" here being a synonym for "white", as the bird's feet, in much the same way that Crayola had a "flesh" colour until the 1960s, which is obviously racist (photo by Neal Haddaway)
