yeah I'm just over the R1s being shocked at cutbacks when the real shock is that they still get any internal funding at this point at all. So many of us paying entirely out of pocket for any and all research costs since the get-go. Cutbacks suck. but read the room etc : (

Just read an op-ed that calculated how much public universities are spending on society membership dues by assuming that ALL faculty at ALL public universities have ON AVERAGE more than $1,000 for membership dues! Not sure what world the author is living in, TBH...
